Kjellberg
The plasma is defined as a gas having atoms and molecules which are partly split into ions and electrons
and having therefore a high electrically conductivity.
In the plasma torch this gas becomes heated up extremely and leaves it through the nozzle with a high
speed. Due to the high heat concentration all electrically conductive materials will melt and due to the high
speed and pressure of the plasma arc the molten material will be blown away forming a very small kerf in the
material.
The plasma arc hereby is transferred from the cathode, installed in the plasma torch and conducted to the
negative pole of the plasma power source, to the workpiece (transferred arc).
The plasma cutting is a technology for cutting of electrically conductive metals, like constructional steels,
stainless steels, aluminium, copper, etc. It is suitable for straight, profile, template and bevel cutting. Thus
semi-finished products such as sheet metal, sheet metal packages, tubes, profiles, blanks, forged forming
parts, cast products and scrap metal can be thermally cut or worked.
The following components are required at minimum for the cutting of electrically conductive materials with
the plasma cutting machine CutFire 100i:
· Plasma cutting inverter CutFire 100i
· Plasma machine torch Flash 101 G/L with consumables and tools
· Remote control FB (for interface X132)
· Gas hose (connection on rear panel)
· Workpiece cable
· Their is a consumable-kit for each plasma inverter (see the corresponding chapter at the instruction
manual of the plasma torch)
All modules of the CutFire 100i are placed in a portable housing. The operating and display elements are
placed at the front and back side wall. The air intake grid is arranged in the front wall too.
The back side wall contains the connection for the workpiece cable, the entry for the mains cable, the cooling
air exit grid, the plug connection for the Remote Control, the interface for the CNC-control, the plasma gas
connector with service unit, and the central connector for the Plasma Machine Torch as well.
The gas supply consists of the gas connector G 1/4" with pressure reducer / pressure gauge, the solenoid
valve und the pressure switch, that switches off the plasma cutting machine in case the pressure drops
below 0.35 MPa.
The power set comprises the inverter block and the HF ignition unit too for initiating the pilot arc.
All power components are protected against thermal overload by means of a thermal switch.
A stationary installation can be carried out by means of the available distance bolts M6x30.
